When most of us talk about wooden wardrobes we are usually imagining the stand-alone wardrobes that have been in use for hundreds of years. The most popular type of wood that was used then and is still extraordinarily popular is oak. An oak wardrobe not only gives you the functionality of providing storage space for your clothes or other belongings but it also helps to set the tone for the room’s theme.

An antique oak wardrobe is synonymous with durability and reliability. Wardrobes made with the wood are built to last but that longevity comes with a cost. Oak is an expensive material to work with and the cost of oak wardrobes is high as a result. Using an antique oak wardrobe as your bedroom storage option is one of the simplest yet most effective design features available to you. You’d be mad not to take advantage of the versatility it is capable of giving you.

But don’t think that the advantages of an oak wardrobe are limited to antiques.  If you’re tastes are more in line with a streamlined modern look, then consider looking at new, or used oak wardrobes, if you want to save on costs but retain the benefits.  A solid wood peice of furniture will be able to stand the tests of time, so you needn’t buy a brand new wardrobe if you want lasting quality.
