If you are choosing furniture for your bedroom then I would not be surprised if you had the a dressing table set way down at the bottom of your list. The reason? Well, many people actually consider the dressing table to be a luxury item rather than a necessity.
When it comes down to it, however, I find that I couldn’t disagree more.
If you actually take time to consider what a dressing table is and what it can do for you you will find that it is in fact a very practical and functional piece of furniture, and so long as you choose the right one it could well be a friend for life! A good dressing table should have enough storage space to keep your bedroom tidy (well tidier!) and it will create your own personal space where you can sit in front of the mirror and make yourself up for that big night out.

There is a vast array of choice at the moment so whether you prefer a modern or traditional design you will be able to find a dressing table set that you like. A typical Dressing Table set will include a dressing table, a mirror and an upholstered stool. If you are feeling plush and have enough cash and the room to accommodate it you should consider the impressive double pedestal dressing table; these are usually solidly built and very impressive with a set of drawers or a door positioned on either side of the table. If the double pedestal is out of your reach then a solid wood single pedestal dressing table will be a more than adequate substitute.
If you are after a contemporary style then you should be looking more at the console tables. Technically I don’t class these as dressing tables proper (they are more like desks), but they can perform the same function and are available in wider variety of styles and materials, including shiny metallic, modern finishes.
