Walk In Closet Organization Ideas to Land You the Job

Filed under Organization | No Comments

Managing your career can start with walk-in closets. A mismanaged life can sometimes be evident on how you are dressed. Mismatched shoes, socks, and over all get-up says much about how difficult a time a person is having organizing his or her life. There are certainly repercussions. If you walk in an interview wearing the most uncoordinated colors or the wrong top with the right bottoms, you can lose the job even before your interview began no matter how smart your answers are.

An employer would most likely be seeking an employee with a good sense of organization and who can work under pressure. Wearing mismatched clothes sends a message that you: 1) woke up late, grabbed the first thing you can find, rushed into the interview and you probably don’t have a good sense of time, 2) since you woke up late, you were under so much pressure to get ready and you since you couldn’t handle pressure well, you ended up wearing the wrong clothes, and 3) you don’t really have a good sense of organization or you would have worn the right clothes no matter how pressured you were.

Organizing your life has to start somewhere and you can start with the seemingly small things: managing your wardrobe. Work around the thought that if you can’t manage seemingly small things then how can you manage a big thing like a career? Take a look at your closet, if you have cramped space and disorganized piles of clothes, shoes, accessories and bags then start with increasing space and useful closet organization ideas. If you have piles of assorted items that you can’t let go of then walk-in closets are probably the best solution. With a wide space where you can place things within reach and within plain view, you can easily mix and match your get-up just by just looking.

However, before you have your closet constructed make sure you choose the right materials. Sort through your wardrobe items to get an idea of how many shelves, rods, drawers, etc. you need or if you even need one. Consider the space in your bedroom. While it is nice to have a closet that is wide enough to run around in, your bedroom might only support the smaller types where you can still walk through but not as wide as what Sarah Jessica Parker has. Also, consider your budget. Do you have enough for high class materials or do you need budget-friendly but quality ones?

A walk in closet is a great solution for organizing various items that are either really essential or just things you can’t let go of. Having organized wardrobe helps you focus on more important things such as landing the job you’ve always wanted and laying the foundations of a good career. Keeping your things organized is definitely not the only thing that you need to accomplish in order to land yourself a good job but it can certainly be the first step and everything else follows. As they say, dress like you are a success and success will come your way.

Garage Shelving Ideas For Storage

Filed under Garages, Organization | No Comments

Garages are usually used for two things: parking cars and storage. Even if you have the same number of cars as you do space, people always want to get more use out of the garage by piling boxes in the corners or hanging things from the ceiling.

Whether you have extra room for storage in your garage or not, you probably can get more value out of it if you can figure out how to arrange things better. To do this, people usually look online to see what type of garage shelving ideas they can find or other types of storage systems.

First of all you need to figure out what types of things you have that you want stored in your garage. Is everything thrown into boxes where it is hard to figure out what you have? Do you have loose things all over the place and need to find a way to store and organize?

Garage shelving is the most obvious fix and you can buy ones that need to be installed into the walls or ones that are free standing. Your local Home Depot will have several varieties of inexpensive and easy to put together plastic and metal shelves that will carry a lot of weight. These can be put across a wall and provide a lot of extra space to neatly store almost any type of items.

The area above your head can also be used to store bicycles, kayaks, and even storage containers that hang. You can find lots of different hooks and storage systems that are meant for garage ceilings and these will add a tremendous amount of space to store away some of the things that don’t get used too often.

Depending on your garage, you might even be able to expand it to the side if there is the room. This would be the most expensive option but it is one of the garage ideas you might consider if you need a lot more room. Before you do something like that though, be sure to check with your city to see if you need a permit to add onto your land. Most cities will require you to get a permit and of course pay them a fee for the privilege of building on your own property!

A Garage Storage Systems: The Perfect Solution for Needed Extra Space

Filed under Garages, Organization, Storage | No Comments

You probably are one of those guilty people that have made their garage into a huge dumping ground. You may not have noticed it until the day that you find out you can no longer fit your car inside your garage. By creating a garage storage system based on your daily lifestyle, or even based on the activities that you do occasionally, you can make plenty of room in your garage for the things that desperately need storing up. Even your car will find its way back to its old home.

When organizing your garage space, you should let your common sense rule. For example, when storing your garden tools, you should place them near the doorway that leads to your backyard. If gardening is a great passion, or if you live in a region where the weather calls for continuous garden maintenance, it would be wise to invest in a rolling garden tool organizer. This tool organizer is very convenient when it comes to storing rakes, shovels, and other hand tools needed for gardening. You can easily tag this cart along to the garden, which means that you can bring all the necessary equipment in one go.

For sports gears, you can either hang or hook them up on the wall. There are great wall storage systems for this. Resist the urge to just prop them up against the garage wall. This careless approach doesn’t save up space and you could end up with a damaged gear the next time you pick it up off your floor. To create an organized space, you should have a system for classifying things. You can systematize them according to their uses and how often they are needed. A pulley system would make it easier for even the youngest person in your house to access heavier sport equipment like a bicycle.

Finding Cheap Wardrobe Closets

Filed under Organization | No Comments

It’s no secret that wardrobe closets are expensive. So expensive, in fact, that there’s air of elegance, or some may say snobbery, automatically associated with the wooden wardrobe armoire and its related armoire cousins, such as the jewelry armoire or the corner armoire.

But does that mean there’s no such thing as cheap wardrobe closets? While it certainly takes a bit more effort to find inexpensive wardrobe armoire furniture, it can be done. For the purposes of “cheap” furniture, we mean an armoire that’s under $200. Now that still may make it expensive to some, but this is in comparison to the common price tag of $500 or $1,000 to $2,000 that is common to find on a brand new armoire.

If you’re in the market for a cheap wardrobe closet, here are some tips.

First of all, consider buying it used. This can work two ways. One, you may find that used wardrobe closets are sold as antique wardrobe closets, and than actually increases the price. No good – let’s pass on this one! The other way this plays out is what we’re looking for. That is to say, you find a used armoire that is heavily discounted because it’s not brand new. The easiest way in this day and age to find something like this is to search for it on Craigslist first, and then approach antique or used furniture dealerships second.

Another method of finding used wardrobe closets is to hit up yard, garage, and estate sales, and see what you can find. This method takes some heavy involvement in time and effort, but it’s certainly a good way to save 50% or more on an armoire.

Another practical way to save money here is to simply buy the cheapest wardrobe closets available. Companies such as Honey Can Do Wardrobe Closets make inexpensive armoire furniture. Other companies doing the same inlcude Sauder, Prepac, and Home and Living.

Out of all these methods, I’d spend my efforts on the either finding something used via Craiglist or finding something new that is priced below $200 straight from the manufacturer. In this way, it’s possible to save a lot of money on a technically cheap but still quality wardrobe closet.

Key Lanyard: Always Organized With A Key Car Lanyard

Filed under Organization | No Comments

When you want to keep track of your keys and reduce the risk of losing them one of the things you can use is a lanyard. A lanyard allows you to hook the keys onto a ring and then actually wear the keys around your neck or, sometimes, attach it to your belt. This keeps your keys in a safe place and if you drop the key, at the very least, the key falls against your body instead of onto the ground.

This is particularly useful when you use a car key lanyard to keep track of your car keys. Sometimes trying to unlock your car in the dark can be a risky endeavor. It is easy to drop your keys and having to look through a pocket or purse for a car key can be difficult. So, having a key car lanyard allows you to wear the keys and have them at the ready.

Car key lanyards can be in a variety of colors and styles. So, finding a car key lanyard can be very dependent on your personality and your tastes. Also, most key car lanyards are not very expensive, so choosing one and then changing your mind and choosing a different one will not be particularly expensive.

Key lanyards can be personalized. Your name can be added or the name of your company. Some companies give out lanyards for promotional purposes. That way the company name can be seen every day by the potential customer who will use the lanyard on a daily basis, this is a great marketing technique.

Most companies prefer that key cards and other things of that nature be stored on company lanyards. However, many employees use those lanyards for their own personal keys and thus they turn a company issued one into a personal key car lanyard.
