Buying Cheap Wall Art: You Won’t Regret It

I recently made a great purchase down at Wal-Mart that has completely changed the feel of my living room and my bedroom. Whereas before I was stuck looking at bare white walls that did nothing to enhance my mood, I am now the proud owner of five pieces of cheap pieces of wall art that I couldn’t be happier about purchasing.

The Sunday paper told me that they were having a seasonal clearance sale on just about everything in the store, and framed wall art was half-off. I’d been telling myself that it was time to do something about those walls, so I took a deep breath and decided it was time to save money and to have a little fun picking five already-framed works that I really enjoyed.

For the bedroom I got a print of one of Monet’s water lilies, as well as a ‘Starry Night’ by van Gogh, which has always had a special place in my heart. For the living room I thought I’d take a chance and combine one of the famous Andy Warhol prints of his Campbell’s soup cans with a wonderful Jackson Pollock, one of his hyper-colorful, edgy pieces. I even decided on a print of a painting from the Renaissance by an artist with whom I was unfamiliar, just because the natural setting and the beautiful flowing robes really struck me.

The best part? The bill came in at under $50. I can easily spend that on dinner at a nice restaurant, but I’m going to have all these pieces for many years, and I know that I’ll never get tired of these classic works of art.

If you’ve been putting off decorating bare walls in your home, I encourage you to spend just a little money and get some inexpensive art for your walls. You pay rent or mortgage every month and there’s no reason why all that money should go to a place that is simply your ‘house’ or your ‘apartment’. Think about it: you should be paying towards a ‘home’.
