Beginner’s Fitted Wardrobes Advice
I can totally understand that purchasing any kind of furniture is a really big decision for anyone. Furniture is by no means cheap unless of course you’re a millionaire in which case you can purchase the exact one you like without compromising at all. Regardless, you wouldn’t want to make mistakes when making your purchasing decision. One of the most common furniture items that practically all people end up buying for their homes is the wardrobe. This is why I’ve put together this fitted wardrobes guide so that hopefully you won’t make the same kind of mistakes that I made during my wardrobe purchasing experience.
Firstly you should work out which room you want to install your wardrobe into. This selection depends primarily on the purpose of the wardrobe. For example, in the most common scenario, people want storage space for their clothes and it is most convenient to access in the bedroom. As a result, they end up choosing a fitted bedroom wardrobe. However, this may not always be practically possible. If you have a small bedroom, a wardrobe may end up just crowding your room even further. Having said that, fitted wardrobes are custom designed to fit the space you have.
It is then important to ensure that the wardrobe will able to store everything you need it to. So even if you manage to fit the wardrobe into your bedroom (or whatever other room in your home), if it can’t store all your clothes, then it hasn’t achieved its intended purpose. As a tip, one option for smaller room is to choose a fitted sliding wardrobe. This is what I have in my bedroom.
One other thing to consider is the material of the wardrobe. Wood and composite metal are popular options. If you feel you are on a budget, a pine wardrobe can be suitable. Unlike other kinds of hardwood such as oak, pine is more affordable.
